Hello Ash,

Yes, server-side paging is done automatically. You can also manually control paging though the JQGrid.PagerSettings collection, where you have available options CurrentPage, PageSize and many others to customize that.

Will this fit into your scenario? Can we add something else that you need?

Hello , I have downloaded the jqGrid for ASP.NET .

While I was trying to create a Hierarchy scenario (Sub Grid (2 nestes levels)) , I attempted to do it as the demo says and tried to add the (HierarchySettings) property for the grids. This however is not working for me as the project wont compile and the error is the following

(Type 'Trirand.Web.UI.WebControls.JQGrid' does not have a property named 'HierarchySettings').

Apart from the above error that appears on the .aspx page I have another error on the code behind that which says.
(The type or namespace name 'JQGridChildGridDataRequestingEventArgs' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?).

Do you have any insight as to whata might be going wrong.

Just wanted to tell that this is now addressed -- thanks George for reporting this both here and to support@trirand.net. New download bits are available.

If anyone else is interested

http://www.trirand.net/demo.aspx (for the demos)

http://www.trirand.net/download.aspx (for the updated bits).

Thanks again.

Hi Rumen,

i would need server side validation, too. Can you advice me how can i solve it, or can you tell me when do you think you can implement this feature (to be able to do server side validation and get back data to the edit form) ?

regards,

  Rich

We are almost ready with both client-side and server-side validation, I will let you know the details very soon (a couple of days, max).

We are also working on an ASP.NET MVC version (and we are advancing fast there too, so good news there too).

Hi Rumen, how are you planning to incorporate the grid into Mvc? Where will you hook it up and how? Can you give me an idead of when this would roll out for testing?

Hello,

MVC development is well under way and we are expecting a beta end of November. We are using best practices from the MVC world, so this is going to be a completely different server-side story from our WebForms components. Nevertheless, we will keep the API naming conventions the same, where possible.

Good news is that it is going to use the very same excellent jqGrid client-side code without any changes.

Rumen Stankov

Hello All,

I am happy to announce that we have major updates to our ASP.NET WebForms component, including the much requested

- client-side validation

- server-side validation

- predefined formatters

- custom formatters

You can find detailed code examples for each of these features in our online demo

http://www.trirand.net/demo.aspx

In the "Functionality/Misc" section (for formatters) and in the “Edit, Add, Delete” section (for validation).

Please, let us know what you think.

Regards,

Hallo Rumen, how is the MVC development progressing? We are in mid December and I have not heard any updates.

We decided to delay that a bit (from our original 10th of Dec release date), since we wanted to introduce new ideas that would make the component very easy to use (as opposed to what is currently on the market). We anticipate that the release will be delayed with one additional week from now.

Please, excuse us for the inconvenience.

Thanks Rumen, I am looking forward to test it out soon (probably early in January :-). SInce the ASP.Net Mvc framework is getting a lot of attention it will probably garner a lot of support for the jqGrid.

It is March now and I have to assume you have abandoned your ASP.Net MVC framework intergration 🙁

Hello Renso,

The work is really at end and we hope to have beta in the middle of March.

Thanks for the patience.

Best Regards

Tony
