I am looking for examples of a website using jquery type of menu system that would feed jqgrid parameters to search on.  I am trying to get away from attaching jqgrid code to each menu item.  Here is my working environment:  Client side Internet Explorer (not a problem) that pulls in xml library files of items;  Server side is a dumb server (no php, asp, java, etc).  Currently web site is set up for a jquery "droopy" menu system and a standard jqgrid for visual analysis by the web site user.  Example of what I have so far can be found here (http://serco-hrc.com/testMe/index.html).  I am not truely set on using droopy menu.  I would love to find something that was themerollerable.

Here is the premise of what I am trying to do.  The menu items which are sub-categories, should go out and retrieve xml objects (from a static xml file) and push this data to jqgrid.  After the user finds the item he/she would like to "investigate" further, the user can click on that jqgrid row and this would go out and get the full information about that single item and populate an accordion type of display.

I am looking for a direction to code in.  Any suggestions would be of great use.

link isn't working.  It is this?    http://serco-hrc.com/testMe/index.html#

also, didn't understand your premise....could you give a concrete example?  (ex: if someone is interested in 38 caliber guns, they would select that in the menu, and then a jqGrid would appear showing all the 38 caliber models in the database? and if they wanted to learn more about a particular model, they would click a link in a particular row to accesss the webpage about it?)

Preichow,

Sorry, that web link should viewable here.  My mistake.

And your example was right on the money.  I already have 4 static xml libraries built, including the accompaning XSD file.  I am just trying to figure out the scripting sequence to incorporate the xml into the mix between the menu and the jqgrid.

I reread my initial post just before I left work.  And yes, I did not make sense.  Its Friday, the end of a very long hell week.  Brain was not working.
