I cannot figure out how to select the specific field on an Edit form where two fields are on the same row.

I want to use the beforeShowform to add a class to the second field in the row.

I have added classes to rows with one field but cannot figure it out for multiple fields on one row.

each element in the edit form has a unique ID, so you can use that to add the class to the element you want.  If i recall correctly, the ID would be the same as the name of the column.  so if your column name is "computer", you can use something like $("#computer").addClass('thisclass');  inside your beforeShowForm function
