jQuery Grid Plugin - jqGrid

I'm trying to add a toolbar at the top of the jqGrid that allows the user to select 2 dates that will filter the data showed in the jqGrid by the database.

I want to get 2 text boxes or such that use the datepicker function and then pass the dates produced to another script by sending them through GET method just like the jqGrid parameters are sent to the url.

Any ideas how to do this? Thanks.
