Hide Column but have it appear in the edit dialog

Is there a way to have it so that I can have a column that is hidden in the grid but when using the edit dialog it shows up? Everything I have tried amounts to it being completely hidden.

Hello,

There is such way. Also you should apply the option editrules - i.e

editrules:{edithidden:true}

Thanks Tony. I must have reread your manual several times in the course of many hours yesterday and finally saw that one. It's a helper for sure. I did notice however, as far as input types you have, it would seem input type="password" is not supported. That may be worth while documenting.
