Display horizontal scrollbar even without data

Hi there,

we are using jqgrid and love this great solution. Thanks so far. 🙂

One question:

Is it possible to show the horizontal scrollbar even when no data is displayed?

Let me just explain my problem: Our users can define how many columns they wish to see. Typically the users display enough columns to show the horizontal scrollbar. Let's say the last column is defined as "Name". We use the filter toolbar to perform fast filtering. Let's say someone filters the column "Name" with some string which results in no data. The horizontal scrollbar isn't there to jump to the filter field and reset the search. We only see the columns to fit on the screen.

Is there any way to make the scrollbar visible all time or to solve my described problem?

Hi,

Have anyone found a solution for this ?

I've the same problem on my jqGrid : my grid has few columns and the horizontal scrollbar is displayed when there's data to display. But when I set a filter and no data matches (the grid is empty), the horizontal scrollbar disappears, making it impossible for the user to empty the filter (when the filter is the last on the right of the grid) : because without the scrollbar, he can't see the filter anymore!

If someone has found a solution or a workaround, please let me know.

Hi,

Just add the css as below to the ui.jqgrid.css.

table.ui-jqgrid-btable { height: 1px; }

and the scrollbar will always showing!!

I wanted just add that

table.ui-jqgrid-btable { min-height: 1px; }

seems be better as

table.ui-jqgrid-btable { height: 1px; }
