Hello Tony,
The method addSubGridCell creates .p.subGridOptions.plusicon icon for all rows. Even if there are exist exact information which rows has non-empty subgrid and which rows has no data there are no way to hide "+" icon. During writing the answer on the stackoverflow I wanted to improve the trick from the answer, but to use something like custom formatter or cellattr or even replacing (or subclassing) of the code of addSubGridCell, but nothig worked.
One can implement many simples way to solve the problem. If the extension of the code will be inside of addSubGridCell one will need to include additional information as parameters of addSubGridCell: cur from the line and rowid (see the line where addSubGridCell will be called).
Best regards
Oleg
