jQuery Grid Plugin - jqGrid

I am using jqGrid 3.8.1 and I recently added json2.js from Douglas Crockford because I need to convert a json object to a string to save on the page and then pass this value back on the next request.  However, including json2 on the page breaks inline editing for jqgrid.  When I remove the include for json2 then inline editing works as expected.

The errror that I get is that value is an undefined property or method that is caught in the save event prior to making the ajax call to the server.

 Any ideas on how I can configure jqgrid so I can use JSON.stringify() or if jqgrid has any internal methods that will do the same.
