Bug #1: Save does not succeed when the row to save is not in the virtual scroll area with scroll=1.
Reproduce with jsfiddle:
- Click any row to begin editing
- Scroll until a virtual page load happens (scroll to the bottom)
- Click in a cell
Expected Result: The console should log "The row was saved?: true"
Actual Result: The console logs "The row was saved?: false"
Bug #2: Currently edited row selection is lost.
Reproduce with jsfiddle:
- Click on a row to begin editing
- Scroll away until a virtual page load is triggered by the virtual scrolling (scroll to the bottom)
- Return to the cell you were editing
Expected Result: The row you were editing is still being edited
Actual Result: No row is selected

Tony,
I don't understand how that link relates to either of the bugs. I am not retrieving data from a server in my example. Could you update the fiddle to get rid of the issues I have or give a more concrete explantion of how User Data could help me?
Thanks for your reply!

Hello,
Many thanks the way you describe the problems. If every jqGrid user describe the problems this way we can help in time 🙂
Now the problems:
1 and 2 These are not a bugs, but "feature" (i.e the grid works this way)
To explain the situation - the grid reads the paging on portions.
If this portion exceeds the limit it clear the grid data and continue to add the next/previous page.
In your situation the grid clears the data on first page and thus the edited row. (The cleared row can not be saved and edited again when we are back with the scroll)
I hope you understan.
This is just my opinion - it is not a good idea to use inline edit with scrolling grid. Better way is to use form editing.
Thanks again
Best Regards
