JQgrid shows extra horizontal scroll bar in the browser even if autowidth set to true

jqgrid is showing an annoying horizontal scrollbar in the browser whenever there is a vertical scroll bar in the browser window. I understand that it is because of vertical scroll bar width, but setting scrollOffset value to 18 or above did n't fix the issue. Any help please?

I had the same issue, and after spending a day on scratching my head and then half an hour on debugging jqGrid, I have found that it ignores scrollOffset whenever height you specify for the grid is not an integer:

if(isNaN(ts.p.height)) {

} else {

aw -= scw; // =ts.p.scrollOffset

hs = true;

}

(grid.base.js #1966)

in my case, I tried setting grid height in ems, like "23em", and isNaN returns true for this value. Conclusion: follow the docs strictly, which say that height "can be set as number (in this case we mean pixels) or as percentage (only 100% is acceped) or value of auto is acceptable."

Hi snobo,

I am probably too late to reply but this might help some one. I have set my height to 100%, still it did n't fix the issue. Any how I was able to fix this issue with the following code.


loadComplete: function(data) {
   $('#grid').setGridWidth($(window).width());
}
