Hi,

Currently when hovering over a cell, the value of the cell is displayed in the tooltip. I want to add custom values to be displayed when hovering over a cell. ANy ideas?

Also you can disable the title in colmodel and then add custom formatter with the appropriate content to display the desired toltip

Hello casperd,

I want to supplement Tony’s answer.

If you use the newest version of jqGrid from http://github.com/tonytomov/jqGrid for the documentation of the setLable() parameters) and with the code like

grid.setCell (rowid,'Name','','',{'title':'my custom tooltip on cell'});

you can set tooltip on the cell with the row Id equal to rowid in the column named 'Name'.

If you need set only tooltip on a cell, you don't have to use the newest version of jqGrid and set headertitles parameter set to true. The function setCell(), which you need, exists already since a long time.

There is a option title in colModel, which disables or enables adding of the title.
