Hi
i set editable to false for a column, but the grid doesn't send the content of a column if i edit the row. This is problematic if a column is the primary key and i want that a user can edit it, but i need the primary key for updating the row.
Is there a workarround for that problem ?

Markus

You can do this:
editable:true, editoptions:{readonly:true}
for the field that you want to be posted but not really editable by the user.
My only concern with doing this is that the field will show up when you edit the row using form edit and it will appear to the user that it is editable but it really is not. But that's an optional workaround for you.

Thanks for this workaround… however, when I implement this, my 'user_id' field from my subgrid sent to the server is blank. It does not default to the 'user_id' for the selected user in the main grid.
How do I get the field to automatically insert the user_id of the selected user in the main grid?

Hello,
What do you use - inline edit, cell edit or form edit?
