I have search implemented like this:
JQ('#myGrid').jqGrid('navGrid', '#previewGrid', {add:false,edit:false,del:false,search:true,refresh:false}, {}, {}, {}, {multipleSearch:true});
I would like the search dialog to appear in a different place on the screen when the search button is clicked (instead of the top left of the grid). Where would I put the settings for that? I'd like to have my own "Filter" link outside of the grid that a user can press and the search dialog would appear underneath that link. Can I have the dialog repositioned depending on what search button is used?
Lastly, can I initiate the grid with filters enabled. I know the user can click the search button and set filters, but I would like to have some filters automatically applied when the grid is initialized. Is this possible?

Hello,
The most of answers can be found here:

Also reposition is possible. You will need to reposition the search dialog after it is created.
For this purpose you can use
$(".ui-searchFilter","#mygrid")
Be a cerefully since the search dialog is positioned relative within the grid container.
Best Regards
Tony
