Problem with z-index

I am displaying a modal dialog with a jqgrid in it. The problem is that when I click the add/edit/delete buttons for editing the grid, the edit window appears behind the modal dialog. I've tried setting the z-index on my dialog to something like 1000 - jqgrid supposedly uses a z-index of 3000 I've seen. Any ideas?

Change the jqModal z-index by overriding the style (for example change to 20, see below).

/* change z-index so it is lower than grid dialog */

.jqmWindow

{

z-index: 20;

}

Hi FusionGuy,

Once you set the z-index as per tcezair's post and you get it working, are you able to type into the textboxes in the edit window?

For me, having a jqgrid in a modal dialog locks the textboxes so i can't type into them, just curious if you have the same issue
