Is there an option to prevent initial loading data from server?
It should only load data when triggerReload command is executed.
Maybe an option disableInitialLoad should be added ?

one sample in document i don't remeber which one is doing what you're looking for. The trick is first to bind the grid to inline data without any data, then when your trigger Reload add the URL of the server.

I've got it working... I set initially the datatype to clientside, when calling
jQuery("#list").jqGrid
Immediately after this, I set datatype back to json using setGridParams.
The grid does not load, but any subsequent reloads, will get data from the server...
Still think this might be added to jqgrid as an optional parameter : disableInitialLoad true or false...
