jQuery Grid Plugin - jqGrid

Hi,

I have a grid that I would like to have rows double clicked to run a modal form(jquery ui)  that then pulls data from sql via ajax to

populate the form fields.  However, the data (being records id's in sql) needs to be hidden or set as id's of cells e.g <td sqlrecordid="23" >Field Value</td>. I need to be able to retrieve these id's ondoubleclick to query the database.   I'd like to hear people's suggestions on how to accomplish this.

getCell and getRowData only grab the cell data and can't access these "Hidden" id's.

Also, i've passed id's to cell data by passing them via XML(not proud of this) in this fashion e.g.

Is there an easier way or way of adding these id's to the cell element instead?
