Not able to get Search Feature working for more than a week.

I am trying to make the search feature work from 2 weeks. I tried the examples in the formus etc. I am using 4.3.2 . Does any body have a complete working example .
BTW i am looking at the GETs in my php i am getting the big search string but still not getting it correctly.
