I'm a new user, I've just installed jqgrid 4.3.1 on my xubuntu 11.10 system, I'm playing with my first test grid which
is basically the "My First Grid" example but with a different data source and column names.
When I go to the page with the grid on it it says "No records to view" but when I click on any of the column headings the data gets loaded and is displayed correctly. I have debugged this to an extent, I'm getting an error in the PHP script that's loading the data when it's called the first time but not, for some reason, when I click on a column heading.
Can anyone suggest why the parameters sent to the PHP script would be different when clicking on one of the column headings as opposed to what gets sent when the page loads? Obviously *something* is different but I can't fathom out what at the moment.

It's OK, I found the error, I had "sortorder: date" in the options so that, on the first call, the SQL returned no data - but when I clicked on one of the columns the sortoder became "asc" and all was well.
