I work for a software company and we are utilizign the jqgrid and the asp.net jqGrid in our product. The intended way the grid is to be used (inline/form editing) is not consistent with grids we use across the rest of our product, so I am tasked with modifying it, at least specifically on the portion of the product I'm using. I'm doing this by calling the editRow method on each row of the grid I'm using so that the grid appears to be editable initially. It has to be this way because of other client-side functionality that changes the presentation of the editable fields by other factors.
The main problem is that sorting is not allowed after doing so, it is disabled.

Hello,
What should be done? Should be sorting disabled into the grid or ...?

For professional UI suites for Java Script and PHP visit us at our commercial products site - guriddo.net - by the very same guys that created jqGrid.

Basically I want every grid row to be editable without having to click on each row and the grid to be sortable. I want to be able to click on the column headers and have it sort even if the rows are all enabled. It seems that when I manually call editrow on each row, it disables the sorting functionality.
