I have a separate html form. I would like to skip the jqGrid editing options, because the forms have a lot of dynamic validation, dynamic retrievals, and separate ajax calls.
I have been trying to put the html form inside of a dialog. I have had more success using the UI dialog, however, when the "parent" overlay dialog is active and I move between rows on the table using left/right buttons for changing the selected row from the grid (imitated like the edit options given), the parent dialog does not allow the gridToForm() method to bind the new data to the form in the dialog. (This is not an issue when the form is just on the screen, only when it is in the dialog).
The action still fires off to change the current 'selrow' gridParam and it does change it, however, the bind to form cannot communicate with the dialog box.
That being said, Tony has established that jqGrid will not support jQuery UI Dialog. I have tried to use the jqModal that is packaged with jqGrid and it has been a struggle.
Has anyone had any similar experiences? If so, did you find a solution with either UI Dialog or jqModal?

Hello,
Is this in all browsers? Seems strange. If you have a link to the problem, maybe we can identify the reaseon for this .
Also - check if the id of the form is available in the UI Dialog.

Hey Tony,
Sorry for not responding quicker but other priorities came up. I took on the dialog box again and it works. I am really not sure what the issue was to be honest. I am certain the form id was still inside of the dialog. Regardless, no more problems. This topic can be deleted.
