Is there a method for triggering the search dialog? I am using the jQuery plugin HotKeys to set up some Keyboard hotkeys for my client (he loves the keyboard and hates clicking the mouse). I have everything working, but I cannot figure out how to imitate clicking on the Search Icon.

Hello,

There is API for this

In the nonminified version open jquery.searchFilter.js and you will see how the author of this plugin describe this call.

For your information the id of the search is a combination of "fbox_" + the id of the grid

Thanks. I was able to trigger the search by invoking $("#grid").jqGrid("searchGrid",{});

From your post, it sounds like this is not the right way to do this, but it worked. Smile
