Hello,

If you use cell edit or inline edit - the answer is yes.

Look into the docs.

The first hint is here:

I'm trying to achieve something similar. Forums indicate that there are three aproaches:

1) Set editable on row:

$('#rowid', '#gridid').attr('editable', '0');

2) Add the not editable row class

$('#rowid', '#gridid').addClass('not-editable-row');

3) Use a handler and call RestoreRow.

var somecondition_flag;
jQuery("#gridid").jqGrid({
...
   onSelectRow: function(id){
      if(id==somecondition_flag){
         jQuery(this).restoreRow(rowid);
      }

Approaches 1 and 2 aren't working for me.  Tony, whats the preferred method?

thanks
