jQuery Grid Plugin - jqGrid

Hi .

Issue : Grid Expanding Automatically when using Long Columns Names

I use a jQgrid declared with the following attributes : ( i have listed only few important ones)

autowidth:true,

forceFit: false,

My table has long column header names.

When the Grid loads the width of the grid seems to be expanding automatically .

The Grid default width becomes bigger than that of the container adn thus the containg table also expands thus deforming the page.

But when i used shorter column names(just for checking) the default grid width is as expected(width of the container) .

hence i observe this abnormal width increase is a result of usage of Long column names(which i need to use) .

Is there any way to work around this ?

I also tried specifying the width property for couple of columns which have long column names . but that did not solve it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
