loading selectbox when the form is shown

What is the best way to dynamically populate a select input in form edit mode? When I set it in editoptions.value it will only load once..

I tried recreateForm and updating the colModel, but then the changes are only visible the next time the form is shown. (the colModel is updated, but it's not using the new settings yet)

I tried updating the colModel in onInitializeForm and beforeInitData events.. but these are 'too late'.

A hint (or 2) would be appreciated.

Hello,

One possible solution is to use recreateForm to true and and the use dataUrl to obtainthe values via ajax.
