load remote data upon click of button

I want to achieve that initially when the grid is rendered, it will not request to the server and show a grid with no record. And upon a click of other control such as button. The data will be retrieved from remote server..

I notice that there is a 'hiddengrid' option which do something similar, but I don't want to hide the grid initially.

Hello,

Create initially the grid with datatype local.

On button click use setGridParam with datatype json or xml and trigger the grid.
