jQuery Grid Plugin - jqGrid

hi,

im a bit new to jqgrid... 

question, will the userdata be retained after an ajax request?

ex. 

function action1() {

var userdata = new Object();

...

$('#PersonGrid').jqGrid('setGridParam', {userdata: userdata});

$('#PersonGrid').trigger('reloadGrid');

}

function action2() {

var griduserData = $('#PersonGrid').jqGrid('getGridParam', 'userdata'};

...

//on my testing griduserData has no value. but when i tried to get the postData it has value.

// was wondering if it was retained... coz id like to use it for Sorting and Paging purposes...
