jQuery Grid Plugin - jqGrid

i have code in javascript doc :

i’m not using jqtree to call the program..
command alert(’1′) works, but the grid and alert(’2′) is not working..
my question is why the jqgrid not appear?

can anybody tell me, why can it happens?
