jQuery Grid Plugin - jqGrid

I have a project where I need to provide a simple non-flash reporting solution.  What is desired is a bar chart report (for example) that has a datagrid that shows the data the chart represents.  Ideally both would have filtering and sorting options where when a one (flter or sort option) is selected the other (chart or datagrid) also changes.

I am working on putting together a prototype that would, ideally, only require an xml file to populate the chart and datgrid leaving only design work left to be completed for my next milestone.:-)

Is this something that can be accomplished with jqgird....what about a combination of jqgrid and something like http://www.omnipotent.net/jque.....sparkline/ ?

Any feedback on accomplishing the above is greatly appreciated.

PS - is HTML5 used at all with jqgrid? Can you shed any lit on the datagrid tag?
