jQuery Grid Plugin - jqGrid

I just installed the latest alpha version, created the database with no problems, modified dbconfig to reflect my database info and launched jqgrid.html.  Right away i get the alert "dialog module not loaded!".  I click ok and the program is visualized correctly - all the files seem to be linked correctly, the data is in the tables.  But when I try to do any sort of operation, add a row or edit a row, I get javascript errors and the edit/add/delete operations do not work. 

The javascript errors are usually missing object errors in jqgrid.html.  Has anyone else had this problem?  Is there some part of the installation that I'm missing?  Any ideas on how to resolve this?  Thanks for your help!
