Including the entire Jquery UI javascript (192kb minified) to just have a datepicker integrated into the grid is a bit excessive.
The author's web page says you can include 2 files, ui.core.js and datepicker.ui.js (both available off the site in google's repositories) and minified, they come to a total of 55kb, much smaller than the initial 192kb and because I would only use the datepicker and no other Jquery UI script, find it more useful than the chunky file that needs to be included as well just to make 1 feature work.
However, the datepicker does not seem to popup with those 2 files, only with the jquery.ui javascript file.
Why is this? Essentially it's exactly the same code as the author donated it to jquery themselves?

Hello,
Use jQuery UI download builder to do this.
