HowTo: new windowow on link in table

I would like to add a column with links to my grid. When I click such a link I would like to get a jquery window displaying further infos for the row.

Adding a link to a cell is no real problem as I can do this with plain sql

But I have no idea how I have to use jquery or jqgrid to display a window.

I created already an additional file which shows details for each row depending on the given id in the link. But atm it opens in a new browser window.

So how can I change this to use ajax windows insead?

A short howto or an example would be really helpful

Sorry but it is not jqGrid related. Maybe you will need to use other plugin like tooltip

you could use Jquery-ui Dialog plugin for display a new pop-up window.. You have some informations about this plugin on the Jquery-ui site..
