Hi,
I had some usability comments on inline editing (by row), and users didn't understand they needed to press enter to save.
I would have liked to add a "save" button when entering ito edit mode, and a msg "record saved" after.
I tried:
beforeSelectRow: function (id,e) {
jQuery('#list').navButtonAdd('#pager',{
caption:"Add",
buttonicon:"ui-icon-save",
onClickButton: function(){
alert("Save");
},
position:"last"
})
But it doesn't add the button.
(and not sure what to but on the OnClickButton function either)
Is there an option to display the save button on inline row editing ?
Thanks in advance, and I'm seriously impressed by this plugin !

Hello,
navButtonAdd – add a button in the pager. If you do so every time a button will be added in the pager.
My suggestion is: add the button when you initialize the grid and the show/hide them when you edit/save the row
$(”#mygrid”).jqGrid({
..
});
$(”#mygrid”).jqGrid('navButtonAdd','#pager',{id:'mysaveid',…});
$(”#mysaveid”).hide();
and then in beforeSelectRow just to show the button and after saving to hide them again.
Best Regards
Tony
