So I perused through the docs and only found the following reference on setting global options:
http://www.trirand.com/jqgridw.....ki:options
Note the doc demonstrates 2 methods to set options globally:
1. Setting new default options such that the ColModel option does not need to be defined for grids.
2. Setting ColModel options that over-ride a newly set global default.
I however have ColModel options setup, but would like to over-ride the settings globally depending upon who logs in.
More precisely I would like to set the 'editable' option to false for the entire grid dependant upon who logs in.
I know I can do this by writing code that assembles new colModel options dependant upon the user login, but I would rather see if there's a global way to over-ride….
Any thoughts?
Thanks
tim

Hello,
Especially for editable options you can use setColProp method:
