I'm looking for a way to shown password column as hidden in grid but allow it to edit inline and in form.
I tried

colModel: [{name:Password,edittype:password,formatter:function(v){ 'click to edit'; } },

also tried to password formatter using

jQuery.extend($.fn.fmatter , {
  passwordFmatter : function(cellvalue, options, rowdata) {
  return "click to edit";
  }
});

jQuery.extend($.fn.fmatter.passwordFmatter, {
   unformat : function(cellvalue, options) {
   return cellvalue;
   }
});

In both cases ff password is edited, jqGrid passes 'click to edit' as password to save.

How to save real password value edited ?
