jQuery Grid Plugin - jqGrid

I am trying to open a jqueryui dialog box when I click on a jqgrid cell link.  The dialog box is filled via ajax and uses the jqgrid row index value as a parameter.

Can someone point me in the right direction?  I can launch a new page without issues using baseurl but how would I launch an independent function?

UPDATE:

Getting closer - I can use oncellselect to fire on the click event.  Now all I need to do is make the text behave like a hyperlink.
