jQuery Grid Plugin - jqGrid

I am having the exact same problem as this thread:

The gridComplete event gets called, but before all operations are complete. When debugging, I place a breakpoint inside the event function which gets called, but the Loading… indicator is still visible over the grid when the function gets called.

The relevant code:

Placing the breakpoint on the second lines shows that this event is being called before the "Loading…" indicator disappears, and the textbox does not get populated.

loadComplete does not work, either. It functions properly when wrapping the function inside a one second timeout.

What should I do so that I can modify the filter of the filter after it loads?
