Grid width in IE vs Chrome

If you look at the demos, the width of the grids show as different widths in IE and Chrome. Any idea why? With a 7 column table, IE is 42 pixels wider. How do others format around this? Is there a way to set a last column width to a wildcard to fill the remaining space in a div?
