Grid Unload and Load not working

Hello,
I am trying to unload the grid using the gridUNload fn.
myGrid.GridUnload();
then later I am trying to recreate the Grid WIth different col model.
myGrid.jqGrid('': ''
....
colModel:colModel(),
...
);
But its not recreating the grid as expected....
Any Help will be appreciated.
