Hi,
I've noticed that jqGrid is sensitive to DOCTYPE declarations in IE 6/7/(8?) where the classic rendering engine (triggered by no DOCTYPE or a DOCTYPE with Transitional and no DTD URL, see here) causes problems for Form Editing.
Specifically, it seems to be related to the semi-transparent overlay that is supposed to be above the grid. Instead, when the classic rendering engine is on, the overlay pushes the grid down and takes a large amount of space in the HTML page.
I'm developing for a legacy web application which requires the classic engine. Is there any way to make jqGrid render Form Editing correctly under these conditions?
Thanks,
Roman

Hello,
I'm not sure for the result (never tested), but you can try not to use jqModal
