I've got data loaded with datatype: 'xmlstring' instead of using ajax. I was trying to do filtering with the toolbar, but all it seems to do is sort on that column, rather than actually doing any filtering.
How do you trigger the actual filtering of the data that has been loaded this way?

Hello,
If you look into the docs you will see that when using json ot xml string the data automaticalli is set to local after reading the data.
Local searching and pagination is not supported in this release. It is planed for 3.7 release.

Thanks for the quick response, Tony. I'm shifting my development model to use ajax, but since there really isn't that much data for me to work with, I'll be looking forward to moving back to local when 3.7 comes out.
