Hello Tony and all,

I have a colModel defined as below. I wish to have the select linked to the text file.

{name:'state',index:'state', width:50,
                    editable:true,
                    edittype:'select',
                    editoptions:{dataUrl:'states.txt', defaultValue:'MI'}
}, ...

Questions that come to mind are...

Where is the text file located? directory with jquery.jqGrid.js?

What format should the text file consist of?

The demos show... editoptions:{value:"FE:FedEx;TN:TNT"}.

I tried just "FE:FedEx;TN:TNT" and nothing.

The response should be a valid select html element - check the Changes.txt

In this case the response should be:

<option value="FE">Fedex</option>

....

</select>
