I am trying to dynamically set the "hidden" value for each colModel using values retrieved from an AJAX post. Can this be done?
$.post("scripts/getgridSettings.php", {}, function(xml) {
idstate = $("colModel",xml).eq(1).find("hidden").text();
recipientstate = $("colModel",xml).eq(2).find("hidden").text();
addr1state = $("colModel",xml).eq(3).find("hidden").text();......
jQuery("#list2").jqGrid({
url:'scripts/shipdata.php?nd='+new Date().getTime(),
datatype: "xml",
multiselect: true,
colNames:['Ref Num','Recipient', 'Street Address', ],
colModel:[

OK. So that is what I am doing yet the grid doesn't load using the values assigned to each variable. I just get a completely blank grid.
