jQuery Grid Plugin - jqGrid

Is it possible to simultaneously display both the ascending and descending sort order icons for the sortable columns.  In default view, only the asc or desc icon is displayed based on the initial sort order.  I want to be able to show both icons so user can decide on the sort order on a given column without having to cycle through the sort order

assume that there are 3 columns:  a,b,c

In the initial grid creation, 'a' was the sorted column with sortorder of 'asc'.  Clicking on column 'b' sorts it to 'asc' and click again to get a 'desc' sort.  I'd like to be able to skip the initial asc sort and let the user pick the 'desc' sort
