Thanks for a great plugin!
I am using jqGrid extensively in my application.
One of the tasks I am using jqGrid for mainting users in my application. An admin can see all users, and I use the nav toolbar to allow an admin to edit, add, delete etc.
A non-admin can only update their user information (name, password, email, etc.).
My preference is to not show any part of a jqGrid, but to direcly invoke the edit dialog with the user's information and a similar colModel that I use for the admin jqGrid.
Is there any way to do this ?
If not, is there any way to ONLY show the user's record in the jqGrid ?
Thanks,
Paul

You can define the grid in a function, then only call the function for admins. Or load the grid to start, but with no data definition, so 0 rows are returned. You can set the height of the grid in loadComplete, so that it's high enough (or full height regardless of the number of rows returned) for the data, but define it as 0 to start, so no data could be shown. (The header and footer will show, just no space for the data rows.)
