disable title attribute on cells

jqGrid always adds the same value of cell into HTML title tag of <td>. This increases the memory requirement and is sometimes anoying to user.

Is there a way (could it be added) to dissable this functionality ? Separate grid and colModel option would be great.

Hello,

Thanks. This is requested many times, so will be added in the next releases.

For now you can use gridComplete to remove the title like this

$("#tr td","#mygrid").removeAttr("title"),

Tony,

I'd like to see an option (function) that returns title for the cell. If the option is not specified, then the value of the cell is used for the title. If false is used instead of the function, then no title is added. If true is entered (default), then again the cell value is used for the title.

Hi folks,

Can I change the value of the td title? I would like to show the value of another column in the title of other, so I can remove the other col from the grid making it smaller ...

Is this possible?
