Is there any way to select or disable a row on the server?
Something like..
<?xml version ="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <rows> <page> </page> <total> </total> <records> </records> <row id = '0' selected = 'true'> <cell> cellcontent </cell> <cell> bla bla bla</cell> … </row> <row id = '1' disabled = 'true' > <cell> cellcontent </cell> <cell> bla bla bla </cell> … </row> … </rows>

Loading of additional attributes inside of xml file is not supported. If you want select a row or disable the server can place the information as a part of userdata. Then inside of loadComplete event handle you can read the information and do the changes in jqGrid which you need. My answer on a close question on stackoverflow could explain it more.
