Hi,

I have a page with two grids. I'd like to use the same server method to process adds. Both grids will be submitting rows in the exactly the same format they are just presented to the user slighlty differently. How can I determine which grid the Add came from?

Thanks,

Aaron

Hello Aaron,

you can just use editData parameter for the Add/Edit form dialogs. The parameter allows you to add any additional information which will be send to the server together with the other parameters. If th you two grids you will be use different values for the editData like editData: {myGrid: 'myFirst'} and editData: {myGrid: 'mySecond'} then you you can analyse on the server side the value of myGrid parameter.

Best regards
Oleg

Thanks Oleg.

Can the editData property be used with the ASP.Net MVC version? I can't locate the property anywhere.

Look at this or this answers. You should just add an additional parameter to your controller action with the name as you use in editData. For example string myGrid.

Best regards

I don't have an EditData property available on Trirand.Web.Mvc.AddDialogSettings in my ASP.Net MVC version. Should I have? My version is 3.8.0.3.

Sorry, but you posted in the wrong forum. If you use commertial and not free open source version of jqGrid you should post in http://www.trirand.net/forum/.
