Hi,
I'm trying to get a custom search working and using a web service to populate one drop down lists of the search criteria
The documentation says to use the surl parameter and edittype:'select', which I am doing.
{ label: 'Type', name: 'type', stype: 'select', surl: '../../../Services/Leads/GetLeads.svc/GetLeadTypeSelect' },
The web service is then called and the html returned, but the problem is that as it is returned as a json string, the string is encoded and doesn't generate a dropdown list in the code.
My web service returns (as a string)...
<select><option id='1'> value 1 </option></select>
but this is transformed into
"<select><option id='1'> value 1 <\\/option><\\/select>"
(note the escape characters)
When inserted into the page, this obviously will not display a correctly formed dropdown list
Any help please on how I form my web service to return the expected html in the correct form
Thanks in advance,
Colin.

Hello,
Not sure that I can help on this.
Another possible solution is to get this result before/after creation of the grid and convert the values in a way that they can be set in editoptions value in colModel.

Tony
