custom pager?

Has anyone customized the pager to vary from the default (<< < > >>) setup? Specifically, I'm looking for something like ( << < 1 2 3 4 5 > >>). I'd imagine I can modify the core jqGrid file but I would rather not do that.

jqGrid just follow the jQuery UI Theme and use classes "ui-icon-seek-first" "ui-icon-seek-prev" "ui-icon-seek-next" and "ui-icon-seek-end" for the paging icons. So all the icons are defined by jQuery UI Theme roller. If you will use customized theme you will see another icon instead.

I do not see how I can customize the pager with the Theme Roller.

Rather than Prev, Next, and the text input to change the page, I would like to display page numbers such as 1, 2, 3, etc. Is it possible to do this without customizing jqGrid?
