I have seen the function below and I am curious to know if you can have html tags as part of the returned value.  For example, if I wanted to make a date value the color red if it was in the past and green if it was in the future could I use this function to wrap the data value in a font or span tag? Are there any examples of this out there?

Thanks!

formatter : function ( cellvalue, options, rowObject )

{

// format the cellvalue to new format

return new_formated_cellvalue;

}"
